The busker works with dedicated music rolls, of non standard dimensions, even if the scale adopted for this organ is the typical one utilized by different hystorical constructors.
The choice to send the compressed air directly to the pipes through the holes of the paper roll, requires a bigger holes diameter with respect to the models utilizing valves.
Moreover, as the bass pipes require more pressure to operate, their corresponding holes have to be enlargerd with respect to the other ones.
The consequence is that on the market it is hard to find ready made music paper rolls for the Busker.
To be more precise, i found on Internet a couple of address where they sell also punched paper rolls with songs for the Busker from a broad catalogue: Melvyn Wright and Ed Gaida.
For those instead that wish to produce their own rolls, no problem, who builds the Busker cannot surrender to these minor difficulty.
The simplest method is to use a manual puncher and a hammer (to make some thousands holes for each song during the long winter nights).
John Smith however proposes also the project of an electromechanical puncher, which saves to you a lot of hammering.
It is also possible self generate the print of the music tracks with the 20 tracks by using the MIDIBOEK program that can be freely downloaded from Internet.
Cabinet design and finishing
The Busker cabinet design is left to the builder fantasy. In the photos you can see my own design cabinet that my wife Adriana has beautifully painted with the decoupage technique.
On Melvin Wright web site www.buskerorgan.com you may find several photos in the Gallery of builders of J.S. organ, all different and very nice, where you can take inspiration for your construction.
